Theta Chapter, Delta Theta Tau sorority, will host its second annual "Taste of Delts" on Saturday, April 12 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Greencastle Christian Church.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available at Eitel's Florist, Myers' Market, Curves and from any Delt member.

Attendees will receive a taste sampling of approximately 22 homemade dishes prepared and served by Delt members, a recipe book and an opportunity to bid on silent auction items.

Guest speaker will be "Cowboy Bob" Glaze, well-known Indianapolis television personality, graduate of Culver Military Academy and longtime friend of Sharon and Bob Evans.

Glaze was a part of the programming on WTTV (Channel 4) for nearly 20 years, most of which was spent as producer, director and host of a popular and long-running children's show.

With the premier of "Chuckwagon Theater" in January 1970 "Cowboy Bob" embarked on more than a decade of local TV shows entertaining and educating children of all ages.

A portion of the proceeds from the "Taste of Delts" ticket sales and the silent auction will be donated to the Putnam County Museum (through the Sharon C. Evans Memorial Fund at the Putnam County Community Foundation), and a portion will also be donated to the local Imagination Library. All proceeds will go to local community programs.

Doors will open at 12:15 p.m. so people can preview the many silent auction items, including Longaberger, Vera Bradley, wine and cheese, entertainment tickets, sports memorabilia and more.

A limited number of tickets are available for the event.

  • I remember watching "Cowboy Bob" on TV. I think he took over where "Popeye and Janie" left off. The good ole' days.
