Donald R. Pierce

Donald R. Pierce, 82, Cloverdale, passed away on April 2, 2014 at the St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis.

He was born on Sept. 14, 1931 in Madison Township, Putnam County, and was the son of the late Clarence E. and Ruby A. (Treager) Pierce.

He married Betty Fawn (Eastham) Pierce on June 16, 1956 and she preceded him in death on April 4, 1996.

He is survived by his children, Kathy Jordan and husband Darrell of Cloverdale and David Pierce of Mooresville, sister Inez Lewis and husband Charles of Indianapolis, brother Wilbur Pierce and wife Shirley of Missouri, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was a retired truck driver for Schwerman Trucking in Greencastle and was a veteran of the United States Army.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 7 at the Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale. Visitation will be take place from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, April 6 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Little Walnut Cemetery with military honors.

He was an organ donor and the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization, 37460 Guion Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46222.
