Thinking of vending at 2014 Greencastle Farmers' Market?

Sunday, April 13, 2014

On Wednesday, April 16 at 6 p.m. the Greencastle Farmers' Market and Purdue Extension will be hosting a workshop for "newbie" market vendors.

The program will include a discussion of what it takes to bring specialty crops (fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, dried fruits, horticultural and/or nursery) to the market.

Also included will be a discussion of issues surrounding vending "value-added" foods (jams, jellies, baked goods) at the market and the Home Based Vendor laws governing farmers' markets and farm stands.

For anyone who has ever thought about vending at the farmers' market, this program offers an opportunity to gather information and get questions answered.

The program is free and will begin at 6 p.m. at the Putnam County Extension Office meeting room, located at 152 E. Columbia St. in Greencastle (entrance under the PNC Bank).
