Riley Louis Sutherlin, 17, of Greencastle, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014.

Riley was born on Feb. 11, 1997 in Indianapolis to Ronald L. Sutherlin and Alana A. Walker Sutherlin.

He was a senior at Greencastle High School, where he was involved in the Classics Choir.

Riley was a member of McKinley Hill Church of Christ.

A fifth-generation farmer at Cedar View Farm, Riley was an active member of the South Putnam FFA.

He was an active member of 4-H where he belonged to the Tractor Club, Swine Club and was currently serving as co-president of the Junior Leaders.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles V. Walker.

Surviving are his parents, Ron and Alana Sutherlin; sister Kendra Sutherlin; brother Dillon Sutherlin; maternal grandmother June Walker of Texas; paternal grandparents Roger L. and Paula K. Sutherlin; paternal great-grandmother Mildred Sutherlin; aunts and uncles Darla and Alan Harrison of Texas, Clint Walker of Alaska, David and Hope Sutherlin, Dean and Michelle Sutherlin of Illinois; and cousins, Andy, Rachel, Ryan of Greencastle; Zach, Matthew of Illinois, Chase, Logan and Breanna of Texas.

A celebration of Riley's life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 27 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, with Pastor Rick Thomas officiating the celebration.

Riley will be laid to rest in the family plot at Methodist Cemetery in Mt. Meridian.

Friends may visit and share memories on Thursday, June 26 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
