Dave Wells (center), exalted ruler of Greencastle Elks Lodge 1077, meets with members of the Greencastle Fire Department in anticipation of Thursday's 4-7 p.m. open house at GFD. The Elks Club will again be donating hotdogs, chips and other food for the event. Meeting with Wells are (from left) Assistant Chief John Burgess, open house coordinator and reserve firefighter Pam Pierce, Fire Prevention Officer Christy Glass and GFD administrative assistant and open house coordinator Brooke Taylor. In addition to food and the announcement of the Fire Prevention Contest winners, the 14th annual open house will include tours of the fire trucks, a bounce house, free glitter tattoos and face painting, scavenger hunt, raffle and even a new cornhole-like game created by Firefighter Bob Campbell in which youngsters can toss a bean bag to "knock down the fire" in a house painted on the plywood board.
