Eagles moving on in football sectional

Winners of the West Central Conference and Putnam County championships during the regular season, the South Putnam Eagles are also the only Putnam County football team advancing to week two of sectional competition.

The Eagles used a dominant second half to top West Washington 45-29 on Friday night, breaking open a game that was tied at 21 at halftime.

Elsewhere in local action:

Cloverdale fell to Park Tudor, 56-22.

Greencastle lost to Edgewood, 36-13.

North Putnam bowed out to Benton Central, 21-15.
