Lloyd V. Herbert

Lloyd V. Herbert, 90, Cloverdale, formerly of Greencastle, passed away on Dec. 30, 2014 at Greencastle.

He was born on July 5, 1924 in Owen County, and was the son of the late Harry Herbert and Bertha J. (Knoll) Herbert.

He was married to Barbara Jean (Scott) Herbert on July 5, 1952, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 1974.

Later he married Gloria Edna Coomber on June 21, 1975, and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2007.

He was a retired car body repairman for Jim Harris Chevrolet-Buick and also owned and operated his own body repair shop.

He is survived by his sons, Russell R. Herbert and wife Marjorie Kay, Cloverdale, and Chris V. Herbert and wife Konnie, Cloverdale; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Lela Bennett, Fall

Brook, Calif.

He was a member of the Cunot Community Church and a founding member of the Cunot Boat Club.

He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force, serving during World War II.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 at Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 3 from 10 a.m. until service time.

Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery with military honors.
