'Cat in the Hat' and All That

It's happy birthday to Dr. Seuss as a couple dozen youngsters hear stories, create pictures and enjoy cake and ice cream during a Greencastle Park and Recreation Department-sponsored program Monday at the Putnam County Public Library. Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel), author of 46 beloved children's books like "The Cat in the Hat" and "The Grinch" would have been 111 years old Monday. Maribel Diaz (above), a DePauw University Bonner Scholar who volunteers at the Park Department, reads one of three Dr. Seuss books to the youngsters.
