PCH announces new Emergency Dept. physician

The Putnam County Hospital Emergency Department has announced the addition of Dr. Ellana Stinson, MD, to the emergency care team.

Dr. Stinson will be joining Drs. Downen, Heavin, Van Vuren and Creese as a part-time emergency physician.

Board certified in emergency medicine with an education from Harvard School of Public Health, Dr. Stinson has earned a master's degree in Health Policy and Management.

"The experience and interest that Dr. Stinson expresses for healthcare in rural areas, such as Putnam County, will prove to be beneficial to the hospital as well as the residents of our community," hospital officials said in a news release.

The PCH Emergency Department began its partnership with OPYS Physician Services in November 2015.

With the partnership brings new physicians joining the ER team patients know and trust, quicker, more streamlined emergency care and overwhelming patient satisfaction, PCH officials noted.
