July 4th fireworks at Raccoon Lake canceled

HOLLANDSBURG -- This year's July 4 fireworks celebration at Raccoon Lake (aka Cecil Harden Lake) in Raccoon State Recreation Area has been canceled, officials announced Wednesday.

The cancellation is due to high floodwaters caused by recent rains.

All funds slated for this year's July 4 fireworks have been rolled over into the funding for the 2016 July 4 fireworks celebration.

The 2016 July 4 fireworks celebration will also be celebrating the state's bicentennial and the centennial of the Indiana State Parks.
