County Jail

Several people have been booked into the Putnam County Jail recently.

* At 10:09 a.m. on Tuesday, Shane Michael Baker, 31, Fillmore, was arrested for battery and intimidation.

At 10:58 a.m. Quental Dewayne Weston, 27, South Bend, was charged for being a habitual traffic violator.

At 11:06 a.m. Joseph Scott Copeland, 28, Indianapolis, was lodged at the jail for nonsupport of a dependent.

At 2:15 p.m. Russell Davis, 23, Terre Haute, was booked in on a warrant for theft.

At 3:10 p.m. Justin Stevens, 25, no city listed, was arrested on parole violation.

At 10:25 p.m. Jason Lee Jones, 35, Greencastle, was arrested on a Putnam County warrant with the original charges of conspiracy to commit theft, possession of paraphernalia and bond revocation.

* At 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Joshua Allen Smith, 32, Terre Haute, was booked into jail on a court order.

At 11:30 a.m. Derek Franklin Vaughn, 27, Washington, Ind., was lodged at the jail by court order.

At 5:30 p.m. James William Webb, 52, Cloverdale, was arrested at the courthouse on a warrant with the original charges of possession of methamphetamine and bond revocation.

* At 1:33 a.m. Thursday, Ashley Nicole Osborne, 34, Greencastle, was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.

City Police

Two recent traffic citations were issued by Greencastle City Police officers.

* At 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, Johnathan Graves, 20, Coatesville, was ticketed for speeding by Reserve Officer Billy Wallace.

Stopped on Fillmore Road, Graves was cited for 50 mph in a 30-mph zone.

* At 9 a.m. Wednesday, Joe Reuter, 23, Greencastle, was cited by Officer Josh Smith.

Stopped on Shadowlawn Avenue, Reuter was cited for driving with a suspended license.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department assisted with one medical run and several other dispatches recently.

* At 1:58 p.m. Wednesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at the Putnam County Jail, located at 13 Keightly Rd. The department was unable to determine the cause.

* At 6:11 p.m. Wednesday, GFD investigated a fire alarm at 507 S. Locust St. The alarm was caused by a dirty detector head.

* At 7:37 p.m. Wednesday, GFD returned to 507 S. Locust St. for another fire alarm. It was determined the cause was due to the dirty detector head.

* At 10:46 a.m. Thursday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 415 Anderson St. The pull station was accidentally activated.

* At 2:31 p.m. Thursday, GFD returned to 415 Anderson St. for another fire alarm. The alarm was activated due to cleaning.
