Marilyn Joan (Williams) Draper Wools, 81, of Brazil, passed away at St. Vincent Clay Hospital on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 following a brief illness.

Marilyn was born in Putnam County on Feb. 15, 1935, the daughter of Chester and Thelma (Head) Williams.

Marilyn married Russell Clyde Draper in 1951. He passed away Feb. 3, 1970. A few years later she met Hubert Wools. They were married Feb. 29, 1976 and enjoyed nearly 40 years of marriage.

Marilyn retired from Columbia House in Terre Haute in 2008 after 38 years of service to the company.

She also loved spending time with her family and her little dog Princess.

Marilyn enjoyed playing euchre and shopping. She will be remembered for her quick wit and a strong right hand and a wicked left.

Marilyn was a member of the Knightsville Order of Eastern Star and had served as Worthy Matron.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Thelma Williams; her first husband, Russell Clyde Draper; a grandson, Steven J. Draper; and three brothers, Chester Williams, Donald Ray Williams and Thomas Williams.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Hubert Wools; two daughters, Linda Archer and husband Dale of Brazil and Darla Draper and fiancé Jeff Grigsby of Brazil; a son, Steven Clyde Draper and wife Mary of Reelsville; eight grandchildren, Kenny Archer and wife Sheri of Brazil, Rusty Archer and wife Jennifer of Brazil, Jessica Draper, Jenifer Cantrel, William Draper, Kkoty Draper, Shawn Alan Draper and wife Deanna, Eric Wayne Targett and wife Tiffany; a brother, Melvin Gene Williams and wife Rosemary of Reelsville, as well as many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Services will be conducted at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil, at 1 p.m. Friday, March 4 with Pastor Tom Roeschlein officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 a.m. until time of services.
