John W. Havens Jr., 80, Coatesville, passed away Saturday evening, March 19, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born in Marion County on March 19, 1936 the son of John W., Sr. and Grace Helen Flory Havens.

John married Geraldine Ann Tolson Havens on March 27, 1959, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 2014.

John was a truck driver, a farmer, had worked for the Hendricks County Highway Dept. for 20 years, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of New Providence Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.

John was a loving father, grandfather and a friend to all who met him.

He is survived by his children, Cyndie (Douglas) Lukenbill, Coatesville, Anne (Mark) Smith, Stilesville, John W. (Vicky) Havens III, Coatesville, and Lisa (Michael) Comer, Coatesville; grandchildren Cortnaye (Dan), Ryanne (Michael), Garrett (Amy), Shelbi, Morgan, Brody, John IV and Ty; great-grandchildren Haylee, Dakota, Josephine, Aria and Lilly; sister Betty Woolridge, Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, wife, brothers Jack and Bob Havens, and sisters Mary Lewis, Joann Asher, and Grace McAndrews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at Bousley-Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville, with calling from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. There will be a Masonic service at 12:45 p.m. and military rites following the service.

Inurnment will be at a later date in the Coatesville Cemetery.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Coatesville Community Center immediately following services.
