Dick O. Reed, 86, of Blakesburg, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Hendricks Regional Hospital, Danville.

He was born Aug. 23, 1929 in Selma, Ind., to the late Walker and Oma (Odle) Reed.

On Oct.14, 1950 he married Carolyn Plumber. She preceded him in death in April 2010.

Dick graduated from Stony Creek Hill School.

He proudly served our country during the Korean War in the United States Army.

He worked as an electrician at Allison's Transmissions for many years.

He enjoyed many sports, was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed playing golf.

Dick jokingly referred to himself as the "Mayor of Fincastle" among family and friends. He loved his family and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his children, Debra Ann White (Randall Barger), of Blakesburg, Phillip (Phyllis) Reed, of Dunnellon, Fla., and Paul Douglas (Debra Ann) Reed, of Ladoga; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one brother, Ronald (Uncle Bill) Reed, of Parker City, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, May 7 at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale. Burial will follow at Blakesburg Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
