County Jail

Seven people have been booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.

Monday

* At 3:58 p.m. Robert Gene Frietzsche, 55, Quincy, was arrested for possession of a Schedule II drug, possession of paraphernalia and driving as a habitual traffic violator.

* At 4:50 p.m. Damon La'Mont Shaw, 25, Indianapolis, was booked in for failure to appear.

* At 1:44 p.m. Trenton Van Hook, 21, Camby, was housed at the jail for failure to appear.

Sunday

* At 3:12 p.m. Hana Lola Clodfelter, 26, Greencastle, was lodged at the jail for domestic battery in the presence of a child.

Saturday

* At 1:38 a.m. Justin Wayne Lewis, 26, Rockville, was taken into custody for intimidation, invasion of privacy and probation violation

Friday

* At 5:34 p.m. Nicole Tampa-Jean Montgomery, 20, Cloverdale, was charged with residential entry.

* At 5:12 p.m. Rubik Khachikyan, 54, Glendale, Calif., was housed at the jail for fraud, forgery, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

City Police

Two teenage drivers were involved in an accident Monday morning on Indianapolis Road, Greencastle city Police reported.

* At 11:44 a.m., Ebony Hendrickson, 16, Greencastle, was traveling west of Judson Drive when she applied her brakes and her 2007 Chevrolet Aveo began to slow. However, she said as she approached a stopped 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Trey Burton, 16, Fillmore, the brakes on the Aveo went out, causing her car to strike the rear of the Burton truck, Officer Josh Smith reported.

Total damage was listed at $1,000-$2,500.

One recent traffic citation was written by Greencastle officers.

* At 2 a.m. Tuesday, Joshua Ridner, 25, Danville, was cited by Officer Zach Rhine.

Stopped on North Jackson Street at Columbia Street, Ridner was cited for an infraction of driving with a suspended license.

Sheriff's Department

Putnam County sheriff's deputies responded to one recent property-damage crash.

* At 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, Michael A. Cole, 20, Greencastle, was westbound on Indiana 240 attempting to turn left into the Greencastle Walmart in a 2012 Dodge Charger. Daniel A. Wood, 24, Fillmore, was eastbound in a 2006 GMC Sierra.

Cole told Deputy Anthony Brown he did not see Wood's pickup and turned in front of it. Wood could not avoid the collision and hit the right rear of Cole's car.

Damage was estimated at $1,001-$2,500.

City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department recently responded to 10 dispatches and one medical assist.

* At 7:52 p.m. on Sunday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 106 S. Spring St.

* At 1:01 a.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a fire alarm at 1 Taylor Place. The alarm was determined to have been set off unnecessarily due to smoking. GFD reset the alarm and returned to station at 1:14 a.m.

* At 9:30 a.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a call of good intention at 101 Spring St. GFD forced open an apartment door for residents who had locked themselves out of their dwelling. GFD returned to station at 9:57 a.m.

* At 3:52 p.m. on Monday, GFD assisted the Cloverdale Fire Department in the extinguishment of a structure fire at 131 Blue Side Way in Cloverdale. GFD returned to station at 4:45 p.m.

* At 4:41 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a motor-vehicle accident at 1230 N. Jackson St. The two-vehicle accident resulted in one inverted car with no injuries reported. GFD assisted in the cleanup process before returning to station at 5:18 p.m.

* At 8:39 p.m. on Monday, GFD responded to a bomb scare at 2200 East State Road 240. GFD stoodby while the Greencastle Police Department searched the building. GFD returned to station at 10:36 p.m. once it was clear that GPD found nothing.

* At 11:24 a.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to a fire alarm due to cooking at 807 S. College Ave.

* At 12:44 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD responded to an unauthorized burn at 103 South St. GFD returned to station at 12:55 p.m.

* At 2:44 p.m. on Tuesday, GFD was disregarded while en route to 410 Millstone Pt.

* At 4:44 p.m. on Monday, GFD performed an odor investigation at 8 N. Jackson St. The smell that was initially reported was determined to have been caused by a bad light ballast. GFD returned to station at 5:35 p.m.
