Weather wreaks havoc on local games

Friday, September 9, 2016

Having dodged the weather bullet all evening, local football games ended up delayed by lightning with just minutes remaining.

The Greencastle-South Putnam game at GHS was delayed with 3:07 remaining. However, with the Tiger Cubs leading 28-0, the remainder of the game was called.

At Cloverdale, the Clovers lead Cascade 8-6 with four minutes remaining. The game end of the game has been postponed until 5 p.m. Saturday

Farther west, the weather delay started much earlier at Sullivan, where North Putnam and the Golden Arrows endured a lengthy second-quarter delay, followed by another at halftime.

As of about 11 p.m., Sullivan led North Putnam 27-13 in the third quarter.
