Janet Rose Springer, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016.

She was born on May 24, 1943 in Fillmore to the late Harold and Juanita (Ray) Broadstreet.

Janet was married to the late Thomas L. Springer.

She was employed as a teacher and library aide for Perry Township Schools for many years.

Janet was a strong person who valued honesty. She was selfless and always put her love of her family first.

Janet is survived by children Angela (Steve) Covele, Tim (Tammy) Springer and Jennifer (David) Buschard; grandchildren Phillip, Kathleen, Kelly, Katie, Casey, Angelica, Monica, Cameron and Autumn; great grandchildren Nicholas, James, Maggie, Jadeyn, Lucas, T. Daniel and Jacob; siblings Bob (Laura) Broadstreet, Betty (Chuck) Collins, Jerry (Donna) Broadstreet, Peggy Kelly, Carolyne (Steve) Harrold, Sharon (Leonard) Barker and Linda (Steve) Davis.

She was preceded in passing by her husband, parents and siblings Marjorie Broadstreet, Maurice Broadstreet, Marvin Broadstreet and Patricia Skinner.

Services for Janet will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, Indianapolis.

Visitation will be Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the mortuary. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family has requested memorial gifts be given to American Diabetes Association.
