Nancy Lee Francis

Nancy Lee Francis, 79, of Waynetown, formerly of Lafayette and Greencastle, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016 at the Lane House Assisted Living of Crawfordsville.

Born Feb. 21, 1937 in Wellsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of Bert Francis Sr. and Ila (Headley) Francis.

Nancy worked at Putnam County Comprehensive Services for 20 years.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed painting, making birdhouses and painting them, and her parakeet.

She is survived by her two brothers, Bill (Donna) and Raymond Francis, both of North Carolina; five sisters, Dorothy Schaffer of Wellsburg, W.Va., Barbara Stumpf of Sulphur, La., Sandy Lovell of Lafayette, Bonnie DeHahn (husband Russell) of Waynetown, and Cynthia Mead of Dayton.

Preceding her in death with her parents are two sisters, Ruth Carpenter and Cheryl Katzman, and three brothers, Chuckie Francis, James Francis and Bert Francis Jr.

Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at Simplicity Funeral Care (1608 Schuyler Ave., Lafayette, IN 47904) with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Paul Morrison officiating.

Burial to follow in Meadow View Cemetery of Lafayette.

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Christian Union Church in Waynetown.
