Better Homes Extension Club making donations to local causes

Thursday, November 17, 2016

The Better Homes Extension Club will make several donations to local organzations after its recent disbandment.

The donations are made possible by 20 years of the club selling nuts and candies at the annual Arts and Craft Fair at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. Donations over the club’s 20 years of sales have totaled $20,000.

Local organizations receiving donations will be the Friends of the Greencastle Fire Department and Bainbridge Volunteer Fire Department (each receiving $1,000), the Putnam County Fair Board (a portable defibrillator), the Putnam County Museum ($2,000) and the City of Greencastle K9 fund and the Van Bibber Volunteer Fire Department ($500 each).

The club also purchased a bench for the Putnam County Fairgrounds and sponsored two fair awards.

“The Better Homes Extension Club would like to thank the many people who purchased nuts and candies over the years and to know our profits went toward many worthy projects,” former President Kathy Ritter said.
