Gobin’s Holiday Cookie Sale to benefit Summer Enrichment Program

Sunday, November 27, 2016

Don’t have time to bake homemade cookies this holiday season? Then come to the 25th annual Holiday Cookie Sale at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Customers will don a plastic glove and make their own selections from trays of delicious and colorful homemade cookies. They can choose the kind, number and size of the cookies to put in a decorated container. Decorated containers of three sizes will be available for sale: a small container for $5, a medium container for $9 and a large container for $11.

The secret is to get there early for the best selection of cookies.

To get to the cookie sale, use the Simpson Street entrance with the glass doors on the south side of the church building. The sale will be conducted in the church’s basement. An elevette is available for those wishing to avoid the stairs.

While the sale is coordinated by the United Methodist Women, other church members play an important part in baking homemade cookies and assisting with the sale.

This year’s proceeds will be used to help the Summer Enrichment Program, a United Way agency. The Summer Enrichment Program provides five weeks of arts activities, swim lessons, sports, social-skills lessons and a wide variety of enrichment opportunities for about 65 children each summer.

Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church is located at 307 Simpson St. in Greencastle and can be reached at 658-6010.
