Free CPR class available Saturday at DePauw

Sunday, January 8, 2017

“Do you have 40 minutes to learn a life-saving skill?” asks William C. Dillon, president and founder of the Start the Heart Foundation.

The Start the Heart Foundation, which regularly teaches free, hands-only CPR to members of the Louisville, Ky. community, will be coming to DePauw University alongside six DPU students who are instructors for the foundation.

The group will be teaching three classes on Saturday, Jan. 14 beginning at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon inside the Union Building ballroom (408 S. Locust St.) on the campus of DePauw University.

There is no need to sign up, but those interested are encouraged to simply “show up” and “bring a friend.”

The event is open to the public and each class has a duration time of approximately 40 minutes.

Eight of every 10 cardiac arrests occur inside the home. The Start the Heart Foundation would like to encourage everyone to come and “learn how to save a life.”
