Rita Louise Phillips, 78, Greencastle, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017 at her home with family at her side.

She was born in Greencastle on April 29, 1938 to the late Claude and Bonnie (Paris) Johnson.

Rita graduated from Greencastle High School and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed singing, playing cards, shuffle board and bingo.

Rita was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Anne Sims.

Survivors include sons Brian (Terri) Phillips of Greencastle and Steve Phillips of Greencastle; daughter Ronda Phillips of Greencastle; brother Walter Ralph (Norma) Johnson of Greencastle; sisters Georgia Best of Greencastle and Phyllis Lucille Cox of Greencastle; grandchildren Bradley Douglas (Holly) Phillips, Kelly Brooke (Brian) Hostetter, Leslie Marie Phillips, Katie Rose Gorham, Alisha Anne Phillips and Daniel Ray Phillips; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with her cremation arrangements.A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
