Constance 'Connie' Marie Long Waldon

Constance "Connie" Marie Long Waldon, of Roachdale, passed away at Danville Regional Rehabilitation in Danville on Saturday afternoon, April 22, 2017.

She was born on Aug. 24, 1921 at Jamestown, Ind., to George Batman and Stella Viola Sutherlin Long.

She graduated from Ladoga High School with the class of 1940.

She married Francis Edward "Frank" Waldon, the love of her life, her angel for 56 years, on July 1, 1960, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 2016.

She worked at Raybestos, where she met her husband to be, until retiring.

She liked to read her paperbacks, sew, loved to crochet and to decorate for Christmas.

Her infectious laugh always brought a smile and was a reflection of her positive attitude throughout her life.

She is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews, including Lewis (Debbie) Wright of Crawfordsville, Karl (Susie) Long of Thorntown, George (Shirley) Long of Greenwood, Gloria (Bob) O'Bremski of Kokomo, and Lora Cassida of Greenwood; and sister-in-law Judy (Don) McGaughey of Bainbridge.

She was preceded by brothers George Robert Long, William "Bill" Long, Richard "Dick" Long and sisters Norma Gene Long Palmer and Lucy Helen Long Wright.

Graveside services will be at noon Tuesday, April 25 at Roachdale Cemetery with Pastor Shannon Ivers officiating.

There will be visitation at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, Roachdale, for one hour before the graveside service.
