The subject of a recent federal aid replacement project, work on Bridge 248 in Jackson Township is nearly complete. Work on the one-lane bridge on County Road 650 East south of State Road 236 has been going since last summer. A final walk-through with county officials, INDOT and the contractor is scheduled for Tuesday, which should bring the work to a close. Work on the bridge has included the total replacement of the 106-year-old structure, paving of the approaches on both sides and erosion control work along the sides of the road that includes rock, trees and grass along the banks of Big Walnut Creek.
