Celebrating 35 years of service to the Indiana Department of Correction, Vicki Sutherlin (center) receives recogniton for her accomplishment from RDC Superintendent Craig Grage and Ruthi Fouty.

The Reception Diagnostic Center (RDC) recently recognized VICKI SUTHERLIN for her 35 years of dedicated service to the State of Indiana.

Vicki joined the Department of Correction on June 27, 1982 working at Central Office microfilming offender packets. She then transferred to the Indiana Boys School as a secretary, working there until 1991 when she transferred to RDC.

She worked in the psychology department and the administrative processing unit before becoming the switchboard operator for the Plainfield Correctional Complex (RDC/PCF).

“I enjoy working at the switchboard and helping people who come in the door with whatever they might need,” Sutherlin said. “Most of my working life has been in DOC. I have enjoyed all the people I have met over the years in DOC and I have learned a lot about corrections. I love working at RDC.”

Vicki has been married to her husband Bob for 36 years. They have two children and three grandchildren she loves to spend time with.

Vicki enjoys gardening, reading, walking and talking.

She lives in Mount Meridian and has lived in Putnam County since 1980.


BRODY PERRINE, son of Patrick Perrine of Roachdale and Charleen Zimmerman of Lebanon, was among the 19 new members inducted into Franklin College’s chapter of Alpha Society during a ceremony at the Johnson Center for Fine Arts.

Established in 1922, the Alpha Society is an academic honorary society at Franklin College. Its purpose is to promote and recognize scholarship at the undergraduate level. To be eligible for membership students must have a GPA of no less than 3.5. Seniors are usually selected, but sometimes high-ranking juniors are asked to join.


CAITLIN WYATT of Greencastle graduated from McKendree University with a BS degree in health and wellness.

The university held its 177th commencement exercises on May 13 at the Lebanon, Ill., campus for students who completed their degree requirements in December, May or July. Graduates at the Radcliff and Shepherdsvile, Ky., campuses receive their diplomas on June 3.

The Class of 2017 includes 827 graduates of the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, School of Education, and School of Nursing and Health Professions.
