Malcolm Russ Stewart

Malcolm Russ Stewart, 91, of Roachdale, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017.

He was born Sept. 8, 1925 in North Salem, son of the late Russ Hobson and Hettie Marie (Tool) Stewart.

He married Erna Marie (Lane) Stewart on April 14, 1950.

After nearly 60 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on Oct. 6, 2009.

He is survived by his second wife, Barbara Boller-Stewart. They were married on Dec. 14, 2013.

He was a charter member of the North Salem Church of God, the New Pleasant Hill Community Church, the Endicott Assembly of God and the Greencastle Assembly of God.

Malcolm is survived by his sons, Dan (Donna) Stewart, Russ (Lynn) Stewart, Michael (Diane) Stewart and James (Corinna) Stewart; daughter, Deborah (Chris) Turner; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, Erna, he was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Louise Cox and Phyllis Edna Stewart, and brother, Ben Preston Stewart.

Family and friends will gather from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 5 at Porter Funeral Home, North Salem.

A visitation will also be held at Roachdale Christian Church, Tuesday, June 6 from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Roger Popplewell officiating.

Malcolm will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery, North Salem.
