Gleaners food give-away at Armory after all

Monday, August 7, 2017

The Gleaners Senior Mobile Pantry will return to Greencastle on Thursday, Aug. 10 at Greencastle Christian Church on Primrose Lane off U.S. 231 South.

The food giveaway is open only to seniors age 55 and older and runs from 10-11:30 a.m. Participants are asked not to arrive before 9:30 a.m.

Besides being 55 and older, participants must also be Putnam County residents in order to participate in the food giveaway.

Those taking part should bring their own sacks or boxes and provide identification to verify eligibility.

Gleaners regularly conducts the senior food giveaway on the second Thursday of each month at the National Guard Armory in Greencastle.

This month’s event was expected to return to the Armory but those plans changed following the original announcement last week.

  • Gleaners will be at Greencastle Christian Church parking lot, not at the Armory. This article (especially the title) is somewhat confusing. Just to clarify, it will be at GCC this time.
