Wood, 38th Infantry Division commanding general, Saturday, Feb. 10, in Indianapolis in recognition of his retirement after 33 years of service. He most recently served as the senior enlisted adviser and top non-commissioned officer for the division, a position he held since May 2015. “I couldn’t ask for a finer NCO than CSM Martin over the last three years,” said Wood. “He set the standard for soldiers throughout the division and always did the right thing.” Martin and Wood instituted several programs, for instance Life Fit, which the Indiana National Guard now uses across the organization. The program ensures personal and physical readiness for Hoosier Guardsmen. Photo by Sgt. Diana Richardson, 38th Infantry Division.
