LINDEN -- A two-vehicle accident on fog-shrouded U.S. 231 at the Linden overpass Tuesday morning claimed the life of a 47-year-old Montgomery County woman.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported that Dana R. Record, of Crawfordsville, was northbound on U.S. 231 at approximately 5:30 a.m. when she lost control of her 2005 Jeep Liberty and went into the southbound lane, 10 miles north of Crawfordsville.

The Record vehicle then collided with a southbound 2003 Jeep Liberty driven by Stephanie M. Pressler, 27, of Romney.

Record was pronounced dead at the scene by the Montgomery County coroner.

Pressler was transported via ambulance to IU Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, with unspecified injuries.

No passengers were riding in either vehicle, authorities said.

At the time of the accident, heavy fog and slick road conditions were reported.

The accident remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
