Virgenna Maxine Boyce

Virgenna Maxine (Brammer) Boyce, 94, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 in Brazil.

She was born in Brazil on July 27, 1923 to the late Otis and Mary (Trenary) Brammer.

Maxine graduated from Brazil High School in 1941 and married her husband Kenneth Leroy Boyce on Aug. 20, 1941.

She worked for many years at Oehler's Variety Store in the toy department.

Maxine was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Brazil.

Maxine enjoyed growing and arranging flowers. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and traveling across the country with Kenneth.

She was happiest while caring for and being surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Boyce was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Boyce, after 61 years of marriage; son Gary Boyce; brothers Roy Brammer and George Brammer; and sister Lucille Chapman.

Survivors include sons, Ken (Virginia) Boyce, Fillmore, Steve (Beth) Boyce, Brazil, Scott Boyce, Westerville, Ohio; daughter Sheri (Tim) DeWitt, Indianapolis; grandchildren Shawn (Traci) Boyce, Reelsville, Shane (Cathy) Boyce, Fillmore, Mitch (Amy) Boyce, Columbia, S.C., Sarah (Michael) Owens, Brazil, Alison (Evan) Whitman, Brazil; Danielle (Anthony) Resto, Hobart; David (Katie) Boyce, Marysville, Ohio, Michaela Boyce, Marysville, Ohio, and Jessica DeWitt Indianapolis.

Maxine is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 31 at Moore Funeral Home, Brazil, with her grandson Shawn Boyce officiating and burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil.

The family will accept visitors Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
