Bradley Thomas 'Brad' Rector

Bradley Thomas Rector, Brad to all who knew him, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his home in Fillmore, surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 47.

He was born Aug. 8, 1970 in Bloomington, the son of Tom and Janie Rector.

He was a 1990 graduate of South Putnam High School.

Brad married Kristie Newnum on April 20, 1996. Together they have two children, Katlyn and Brandon Rector, who were the light of his life.

He is survived by his wife, children, parents, brother Rodney Rector and wife, Wendy; niece Radley Rector; nephew Hayden Rector; in-laws, Jim and Sandra Woods and Russell and Judy Newnum; sisters and brother-in-law, Tammy Kennedy, Terri (David) Harris and Randy Woods (fiancé' MaryLou); and nieces and nephews.

Brad owned and operated B&R Guttering and was employed as a contractor for CBRE at Eli Lilly.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, boating, fishing, smoking meat on his smoker and car shows. He was an avid bowler and cornhole thrower.

A celebration of Brad's life will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, June 9 with services at 2 p.m. at Greencastle Christian Church, 620 Primrose Lane.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Brad to the IU Simon Cancer Center in care of the Infusion Center family care, 535 Barnhill Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
