Susan Branch Mahoney

Susan Branch Mahoney, 83, of Greencastle passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at Putnam County Hospital.

Susan was born in Martinsville on March 31, 1935, the daughter of Manley and Susan Whittemore (Woodbury) Branch.

Mrs. Mahoney was a graduate of Martinsville High School, and attended Indiana University.

She was an administrative assistant for DePauw University for many years before becoming co-owner of Isle of Erin Bridal Shop in Terre Haute for which she worked for 10 years.

Memberships include Bainbridge Saddle Club, Route 40 Riders, ISHA and she was a 4-H volunteer. She also had been a pageant judge for Miss U.S.A.

Survivors include her daughter, Erin Mahoney; a niece, Anne Bogardt; three grandchildren, Brandon Sutherland (Ashlie), Shea Mahoney-Sutherland (Jon Addler) and Bree Mahoney-Sutherland; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Sutherland and Jaylinn Servies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of more than 46 years, Robert D. "Butch" Mahoney; a sister, Alice Ann Hussey; a niece, Susan Hussey; and a son-in-law, Rick Sutherland.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6 at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.
