Jackie ‘Jack’ Ray Jones

Jackie “Jack” Ray Jones, 78, of Roachdale, peacefully went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018.

He was born Feb. 11, 1940, the son of the late James M. and Nellie (McFerran) Jones.

On July 26, 1958 in Fillmore, he married Caroline (Robinson) Jones. She survives.

Jack graduated from Roachdale High School with the class of 1958. He worked bridge construction his entire life with the last 20 years owning and operating Jones & Sons Construction Inc.

Jack loved being involved with the community, especially serving on the Roachdale Fire Department, where he served for 54 years. He also served on the Roachdale Town Board.

He was member of Roachdale Christian Church, Roachdale Masonic Lodge No. 602, International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 841 and the Roachdale Christian Church Prime Timers Club.

Jack was always there to support his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids in all of their activities, especially their sporting events.

He survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Caroline, son Steve (Brenda), daughter Beth (Mike) McBride, grandkids Bryce (Stephanie) Adam, Brandon (Katie), Andrea (Brent), Elizabeth (Kyle) and Brock (Ashlyn); great-grandkids Ashley, Elle, Addison, Cooper, Aubrey, Delanie, Bryton and Selah.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 at Roachdale Christian Church, 1 N. Walnut St., Roachdale, with Pastor James Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in Roachdale Cemetery.

Friends may gather with the family for a time of visitation Thursday, Nov 15 from 3-7 p.m. at the church. Masonic Rites conducted by the Roachdale Masonic Lodge No. 602 will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the church.

Memorials in Jack’s memory may me made to the Roachdale Christian Church Prime Timers Club or the Roachdale Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be provided.
