Saturday's boys' high school basketball preview

The coaches: Brian Barber is in his 20th year at Danville. Bryce Rector is in his third year at Greencastle.

So far: The game is Danville’s season opener. Greencastle defeated Crawfordsville 67-55 on Tuesday.

History: Danville won 60-42 at home last year and has a 23-4 record in the series over the past 30 years.

Key players: The Warriors lost two-sport standout Alec Burton (19.5 points per game, 10.8 rebounds) from last year’s 22-5 team, but return senior Connor Jones (12.9 points, 4.0 rebounds) and junior Dillon Ware (10.1 points, 4.6).

On Tuesday, all five starters were in double figures, as Brody Whitaker had 15 points, Cade Plew had 14, Nick Sutherlin had 13 and Gavin Bollman and Bennie Parmley had 11 each.
