City Fire

The Greencastle Fire Department responded to five recent dispatches:

• At 11:55 a.m. on Friday, GFD was dispatched to 1300 S. Warren Dr. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 12 p.m. but could not determine a cause for the alarm. The alarm had been reset prior to GFD’s arrival. GFD returned to station at 12:21 p.m.

• At 9:52 a.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 2 W. Seminary St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at 9:56 but could not determine a cause of the alarm. The alarm was reset. GFD left at 10:19 a.m.

• At 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, GFD was dispatched to 106 S. Spring St. for a fire alarm. Firefighters arrived at approximately 10:31 but could not determine the cause of the alarm. The alarm was then reset. GFD left at 10:41 p.m.

• At 10:54 a.m. on Sunday, GFD was called to a fuel spill at 1405 N. Jackson St. Units arrived at 10:57 and performed clean-up of the spill. GFD went back into service at 11:23 a.m.

• At 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, GFD was sent to 9 N. Locust St. for an animal rescue. Units arrived at 3:29 and rescued a cat from a tree. GFD went back into service at 3:38 p.m.

Additionally, GFD performed two medical assists during this time.
