Jimmie Gene Clifford

Jimmie Gene Clifford, 81, of Bainbridge, passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019.

Born Oct. 16, 1937 in Greencastle, he was the son of Layton and Lola (Furney) Clifford.

He was a 1956 graduate of Bainbridge High School.

Jimmie retired from farming and went to work for the Walmart Store and Distribution Center, retiring after 26 years.

He was a member of the Bainbridge Christian Church; the Bainbridge Lions Club; an avid golfer and member of the Hickory Hills Golf Course. He was also a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Clifford; son David (wife Melanie) Clifford; daughter Beth Ann Funk; brother Jack (wife Charlene) Clifford; ex son-in-law Christopher Todd Funk; grandchildren Marissa (husband Joel) Bustin and Joshua L. Clifford; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Virginia Proctor; and a niece, Susan Diane Clifford.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11 at Bittles and Hurt Funeral Home, Greencastle. Interment will follow at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from noon until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
