Kenny Gorrell

Kenny Gorrell, 59, of Russellville, passed away in Clayton on Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on Aug. 26, 1960 in Greencastle to the late Charles Harvey and Imogene Maxine (Nicholson) Gorrell.

He married Dianna (Davis) Gorrell on Sept. 29, 2001 at the Russellville Community Center in Russellville. She survives.

He worked for Fry Dairy Farm for 10 years and Tri-County Trash for 35 years. He was a graduate of North Putnam High School in the class of 1980.

Kenny enjoyed anything outdoors. Gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, riding his four-wheeler in the woods, picking up walnuts by the truck full and cutting wood are a few of the things he really enjoyed. He loved being with and teaching his grandchildren about nature and the great outdoors.

Kenny is survived by his wife Dianna (Davis) Gorrell of Russellville; brothers Joe Gorrell of Crawfordsville and Bobby Gorrell of Russellville; children Earl Ray (Michelle) Gorrell of Greencastle, Lynda (Jason) Fox of Clayton, Sara (Tyler) Welty of Plainfield and Charla (Matt) Gorrell-Whitlock of Crawfordsville; stepchildren Steve Hansen of Russellville and Danielle Hansen (Jessie Cummings) of Russellville; grandchildren Hunter, Justin, Easton, Colton, Brynlee, Matthew, Noah, Tyler and Waylon; and aunt Lynne Gorrell of Florida.

He is preceded in death by his parents; uncles and aunts Willis and Margaret Gorrell, Eddie Gorrell, Fred Nicholson and Bob and Betty Nicholson; granddaughter Janet Joanne “JJ” Whitlock; and grandson Spencer J. Hansen.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 19 at 7 p.m. at Servies and Morgan Funeral Home, 102 E. Washington St., Roachdale. Darrell Wiatt will be officiating the service. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
