Patrons at 3G Bowl and Bar & Grill may have had their revelry disrupted, but are safe following a smoke scare Saturday night.

At approximately 10:25 p.m., the Greencastle Fire Department and local police personnel were called to the bowling alley for a smoke alarm.

When the Banner Graphic arrived to find out more about the situation, police were already coming away from the scene. GFD was in the process of airing out the building.

3G Bowl co-owner Tiffany Friars told the Banner Graphic that emergency personnel were dispatched when smoke began to issue from one of the receiving machines.

Everyone in the bowling alley was evacuated and waited outside in the parking lot while GFD investigated the incident.

No specific cause of the smoke could be determined as of 11 p.m. Friday.

  • I am glad everything is okay with the bowling alley. It is a fixture of Greencastle. I remember bowling there in the 1970'S.
