Putnam County Hospital is continuing its mission to bring exceptional healthcare close to home.

In the November issue of Indianapolis Monthly, two of the Franciscan cardiovascular disease doctors who see patients at Putnam County Hospital were recognized on the top doctors list.

Dr. Angela Brittsan and Dr. Vijay Rao were named in the top 100 doctors for their work with cardiovascular disease.

Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a healthcare research and information company, compiled this year’s honorees by asking physicians to recommend someone in Central Indiana they would choose or suggest to a family member.

More than 900 licensed medical professionals in the area, representing dozens of specialties, met Castle Connolly’s qualifications.

“We are happy so many of our physicians have been recognized this year by Indianapolis Monthly magazine,” said Christopher Doehring, MD, vice president of medical affairs for Franciscan Health Central Indiana. “Additionally, we are particularly gratified by all of the physicians and surgeons who have chosen our hospitals and practices to care for the patients we are privileged to serve.”

Putnam County Hospital offers comprehensive heart care in a comfortable and convenient setting for patients and their families. Franciscan Health is renowned for providing outstanding advanced heart care, landmark research and innovative heart treatments.

“Together, both Putnam County Hospital and Franciscan Health are making access to heart care easier and more convenient with board-certified cardiologists seeing patients five days a week,” a hospital representative said. “We are proud that Dr. Brittsan and Dr. Rao are able to help Putnam County Hospital bring exceptional healthcare close to home for the residents from and around Putnam County.”
