NCAC honors Kopp as POW
DePauw senior guard Sydney Kopp of Hinsdale South High School in Burr Ridge, Ill., has been chosen North Coast Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performances in DePauw’s three wins last week.
Kopp averaged 26.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists as the Tigers, ranked 10th in the D3hoops.com preseason poll and 12th in the coaches’ rankings, topped Earlham (69-43), Wisconsin-Stevens Point (66-61) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (70-69, OT).
The Wisconsin-Whitewater Tipoff Tournament MVP, Kopp poured in a career-high 36 points and grabbed eight rebounds in Saturday’s win over the host Warhawks.
That came one day after a 26-point showing against Stevens Point. For the week, Kopp connected on 9 of 18 shots from 3-point range and nailed 22 of 28 free throws.
DePauw returns to action on Friday with a 5 p.m. CST game against #17/8 Wisconsin-Osh kosh in Wisconsin Lutheran’s Paul Knueppel Classic.
