Under the guidance of art teacher Dessa Frank, fifth-graders at Tzouanakis Intermediate School were given the opportunity to create an ad for a local business.

The individual businesses agreed to place an ad, with a portion of it being created by the children. The children could pick which business they wanted to create an ad for, from there the Banner Graphic chose a winner for each business.

The winning ads were featured in the Design an Ad Contest special insert on Nov. 30. Each of the participants was also featured in an ad on the same day.

Organizers would like to thank Dessa Frank for helping organize this contest and the local businesses that participated — the Banner Graphic, Casa Grande, Cloverdale Drugs/Crossroads Pharmacy, Collins Evans Real Estate, Hendricks Power Cooperative, Hickory Creek at Sunset, Jack’s Trash Service, State Farm-Heather Taylor Agency, Summit Builders Inc, Tri-County Bank, West Central Veterinary Services and Young’s Hometown Insurance.
