If you really do own that proverbial rain gear, now may be the time to find it
As TV weathermen like to say, “You might want to dig out your rain gear.”
Whether that means an umbrella, galoshes and your favorite macintosh raincoat or just staying inside where it is dry, the rest of the week is looking pretty wet.
And as the guy working next to you, the girl across the counter or your mother-in-law on the phone will undoubtedly suggest, “Be glad it’s not snow.”
Heavy rainfall is expected this weekend with amounts between two and four inches expected across Indiana, the National Weather Service at Indianapolis says. That kind of precipitation as snow would likely have us digging out from under a foot or more of white stuff this time of year.
Rain will likely start Thursday evening before tapering off by Sunday. The heaviest rain is likely to occur Friday night through Saturday.
The busy forecast for the rest of the week: Colder temperatures Wednesday, windy and much warmer Thursday with rain starting that evening, warm temperatures and heavy rain for Friday and Saturday.
A chance for the dreaded “wintry mix” is seen Saturday night on the back side of the weather system, the Weather Service notes.
