James Lloyd Bartley

James Lloyd Bartley, 87, of Reelsville, passed away Wednesday evening, March 25, 2020 in his residence.

He was born in Lee County, Va., on May 8, 1932 to Edgar and Lillie (Wade) Bartley.

Lloyd was a retired farmer.

Lloyd was a 1950 graduate of Reelsville High School. On April 14, 1951, he married Sue Stallcop and together they enjoyed nearly 69 years together.

He was owner and broker for Lakeside Real Estate and retired in 2011. Lloyd loved to go fishing and mowing his lawn. He was an avid IU basketball fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Lillie Bartley; and six brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sue Bartley of Reelsville; their children, Kathy White and husband Mike of Foley, Ala., Gary Bartley and wife Pam of Sullivan and Karen DeBoulle and husband Mike of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters.

Per Lloyd’s wishes, cremation was selected. No visitation is scheduled. The family plans to have a memorial service at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil.
