Wanda Mae Butts

Wanda Mae Butts, 72, Brazil, went to be with her Lord on on Monday, May 26, 2020 with her family by her side.

She was born in Brazil on Sept. 15, 1947 to the late Loyd and Loretta (Powell) Jenkins.

Wanda graduated from Van Buren High School, and went on to marry Robert Butts on Dec. 26, 1965.

She worked as a teacher’s aide in the Clay Community School System, as well as working in medical records at Putnam County Hospital.

Wanda and Bob attended Ebenezer Christian Church.

Wanda loved spending her free time reading, traveling to warmer climates, and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Jenkins Sr.

Survivors include husband Robert Butts of Brazil; son Michael (Libby) Butts of Brazil; daughter Tracy (Tim) Brunette of Brazil; brothers Lloyd (June) Jenkins of Brazil, William (Denise) Jenkins of Tipton and Charlie (Carol) Jenkins of Princeton; sister-in-law Claudia Jenkins of Gulf Springs, Miss.; grandchildren Kayla (Cole) Dickison, Zebb (Sydni) Butts, Emily Chiles, Clara (Vershon) Terry, Greg (Sam) Brunette, Megan Brunette and Jacob (Haylee) Brunette; great-grandchildren Rylan Lumsdon, Karter Brunette, Kasen Hollifield, Sapphira Terry, Maxwell Dickison and Julian Butts; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Bill Price officiating and burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
