No Bones About It

With no downtown trunk-or-treat event scheduled this year, the crowds instead flock to Big Walnut Sports Park Saturday evening for the drive-through trunk-or-treat event sponsored by Main Street Greencastle and local emergency service agencies. Dressed as a skeleton, Putnam County Public Library Youth Services Manager Krista Mullinix gives candy to a carload of kids. With no precedent for the event, organizers had no idea what to expect in the way of a crowd, but were overwhelmed as the event, scheduled for two hours, wound up lasting four to get all 395 vehicles to make it through. Main Street Director Mike Richmond said traffic was overflowing onto State Road 240 at one point.
