Small Business Saturday being celebrated Nov. 28
Small Business Saturday falls on Nov. 28 this year.
“This has been one of the most difficult years ever for some of our locally owned businesses,” Putnam County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brian Cox said. “That is especially true for local restaurants, boutiques and the entertainment industry.”
The Putnam County Chamber is asking residents to support local businesses this holiday season.
That can be done in several different ways. Start by shopping locally or writing a positive review or sharing with your friends and family about the great service you have received locally.
Did you know that out of every $100 spent locally $68 stays local? That’s unlike the $43 that stays when you shop large corporations.
Small Business Saturday is just the start of the local shopping season. The Chamber is asking residents to make it a priority to shop locally this whole holiday season. Local small businesses have worked hard to give you several ways to shop local: From in-person shopping to shopping online or using curbside pick-up.
This year if you tag the Putnam County Chamber with a picture of yourself and your friends shopping locally you will be entered to win one of five $50 gift cards from the local store you were shopping at.
Winners will be announced on Monday, Nov. 30.
