The Putnam County Community Foundation has announced one of its newest funds, the Buzzi Unicem USA Covid Relief Fund.

This fund was established by Buzzi Unicem USA to assist in alleviating the burdens COVID-19 has created within Putnam County.

“We are honored to partner with Buzzi and work alongside Tim Menke from the Greencastle plant,” PCCF Community Development Director Dean Gambill said. “Their fund will allow the Community Foundation to continue our efforts to meet the emerging needs created by COVID-19.”

The fund recently awarded a $5,000 grant to Family Support Services of West Central Indiana for its Victim and Family Support Fund. The funding will allow Family Support Services to provide direct assistance to clients when they need it the most.

“We could not be more thankful for the support and generosity of the Foundation and Buzzi Unicem during this time.” Family Support Services Executive Director Scott Monnett said. “This award will help us provide support to victims and families we serve every day through our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Victim Services, Healthy Families and Recovery Coalition efforts. With the loss of fundraising events in 2020 due to COVID our resources available to provide support were limited. This gift provides a strong foundation for us to continue meeting the immediate needs of our clients when they are in crisis.”
