PCPL offering vaccine registration assistance

Wednesday, February 10, 2021

The Putnam County Public Library is offering assistance to community members who need help scheduling a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

Library staff members have completed training from the State of Indiana to assist in COVID-19 vaccine scheduling for those who have been unable to complete the online process themselves.

Scheduling an appointment takes just a few minutes for eligible recipients, while pre-registration takes approximately 10-20 minutes and requires the scheduler’s insurance information.

“The library has certainly tried to do our part over the last year to help in any way we can with the strain that COVID has caused so many,” said PCPL Director Matt McClelland. “We are very pleased to help those who want the vaccine but might be having difficulty signing up.”

The vaccine is currently available to first responders, health care workers or those working in close contact with COVID-19 patients and those over the age of 65.

Vaccine scheduling assistance is available at the library in person or by phone. Help can also be provided to walk-in visitors as well. Those interested may contact the Reference Desk at refdesk@pcpl21.org or 653-2755.

Information on the COVID-19 vaccine is available in the library’s Community Corner located near the public computer area.

“If you are looking for fact-checked information, detailed explanations about the vaccine or COVID relief aid, we encourage you to visit and look over our resources,” said Adult Reference Manager Amber Compton. “Our goal is that every person we help schedule for an appointment is well-informed and comfortable with their decision.”
