Vaccine available to those 60 and above

The Putnam County Health Department has announced that eligibility to receive the COVID-19 vaccine has opened to those aged 60 and above beginning Tuesday.

Health care workers and first responders remain eligible.

All vaccinations require an appointment to be made in advance by calling 211 or visiting www.putnamhealthindiana.org and selecting the COVID-19 Vaccinations link at the top of the page.

As of Feb. 22, the Health Department has completed over 2,450 vaccinations. Over 4,000 Putnam County Residents have received their first dose and over 1,400 have been fully vaccinated.

“We are proud of our state and county partners for helping to lead the nation in providing a smooth vaccination process,” said Public Health Officer Adam Amos.

The Health Department is still seeking volunteers to assist with vaccination efforts. Interested persons may visit the website and select the COVID-19 Volunteer Application link at the top of the page.
