The Greencastle Virtual Music Festival will conclude its series of 28 weekly Zoom watch parties with singer-songwriter Joe Peters performing a live interactive concert from his California home Wednesday night.

The 7:30 p.m. performance can be viewed at http://gvmf.live.

Peters is a world-traveling, multilingual doctorate who is a prolific songwriter with a dozen albums, and was based in Central Indiana until recently.

Many will remember his summer performances at Gobin Memorial United Methodist Church and Bach and Barbecue shows at the now-closed Chief’s restaurant in Greencastle.

“He’s one of the most gifted, intelligent and fascinating people I know,” said Eric Edberg, the organizer and host of the virtual series, which airs on multiple online platforms and Channel 3. “What an opportunity to have an evening of music and conversation with him.

“It would be great to have as many people a possible join us for this interactive event, our last livestream Zoom concert of the spring,” Edberg added.

In-person Greencastle Summer Music Festival concerts will resume on Wednesday, June 2 at Gobin, though perhaps with a limited audience size and masks being required. Details will be announced soon.

During May, Edberg will be traveling and working to organize the summer concerts. While he will not be hosting the Zoom watch parties every Wednesday, one or more will be announced.

Video recordings of many of the upcoming 2021 Greencastle Summer Music Festival concerts will be made available on YouTube, Facebook and cable access TV for those who cannot attend in person.

Previous Greencastle Virtual Music Festival programs are available on YouTube at http://playlist.gvmf.live and on Facebook at http://facebook.com/greencastlevirtualmusic. Viewings on Channel 3 are Saturdays and Sundays at 2 and 8 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 and 8 p.m.

The Greencastle Virtual Music Festival programs have been supported by the Greencastle Summer Music Festival’s family of donors, its endowment at the Putnam County Community Foundation, the Putnam County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the DePauw Performing Arts Series, the Inn at DePauw, Gobin Church and in partnership with the Sunny Side concert series.
